Diamond Reception • Malibu Farm (Sunday Evening)
The Diamond Reception is our signature welcome event, designed to set the tone for an unforgettable three days in San Diego. We take over Malibu Farm’s stunning pier location for an evening of open bar hospitality, elevated passed appetizers, and relaxed networking with the CODACON community. This is a chance to ease into the conference, reconnect with familiar faces, and meet new ones while enjoying ocean air, beautiful views, and the perfect California backdrop. Once the reception winds down, attendees will have plenty of time to explore the excellent restaurants along the waterfront just steps away. It’s a warm, easy kickoff before the conference begins in full force on Monday.
Gold Label Dinner Cruise • Flagship Cruises (Monday Night)
Monday night, we shift from land to sea for a full-service dinner cruise aboard a private Flagship vessel. Attendees will enjoy three open bars, a seated dinner, and panoramic views of San Diego’s skyline as we glide across the harbor. This is one of CODACON’s most memorable traditions- a night where camp owners and directors can unwind from a highly productive day, share ideas, and simply enjoy being part of a vibrant professional community. Whether you’re swapping stories under the open sky or taking in the city lights from the deck, the Gold Label Dinner is both a celebration and a rare chance to step away from the daily grind in gorgeous surroundings.
Hyatt Breakfasts, Coffee, and Snacks (Monday & Tuesday)
Each morning we gather by our general session space for breakfast and connection before the day’s programming begin. Monday’s breakfast is informal and a chance to ease into the schedule, chat with fellow attendees, and build momentum for the day. Tuesday brings our annual Speedy Altman Breakfast, where we honor an industry leader with CODA’s most prestigious award and we also welcome our closing keynote (Michael Smerconish). Throughout the conference, we like to keep everyone fuelled with coffee, snacks, and refreshments in order to keep our attendees energized from beginning to end!

Brews With Brewer • Late-Nights with Andre
For those who aren’t ready to call it a night, Brews With Brewer keeps the energy going long after the sessions end. Led by CODACON’s social chair, Andre Brewer, this optional late-night outing is perfect for anyone who wants to explore San Diego’s bar scene, unwind with fellow attendees, or just enjoy good conversation in a low-pressure setting. Each night Andre rallies a group and heads out to some local favorites- laid-back pubs, lively cocktail spots, and hidden neighborhood gems. No agenda, no speeches, just great company and a relaxed way to close out the day.
