Creating Realistic Expectations for an Emotionally Successful Summer
Camp is a great experience! It can also be stressful for parents and children as there are a lot of expectations and anticipatory anxiety that comes with planning for a fun summer. In this training we will learn how to identify some common mental health signs and symptoms. We will learn practical communication and behavioral modification skills to promote a climate of success both from the parental and camp staff perspectives. Learn how to empower your staff and create a climate of peer support as a way to delegate emotional responsibility. Let’s not only fill the duffels with clothes, toiletries and costumes, but great tools that can be used to promote a successful summer when both parents and kids feel successful that they are able to manage their own expectations and emotions.
